Welcome!

Denise Grijalva

My journey started when I found a lump in my breast in 2008. It was a really scary time for me. I immediately made an appointment with my PCP and Gynecologist and they scheduled a mammogram and an ultrasound. Although tests were inconclusive, my physicians were bothered by the characteristics of the mass and sent me to see a surgeon. They all agreed that surgery to remove it was my best option. Since the mass was about the size of a peach pit, the surgery would be taking a big part of my breast. It was then that I began a search for alternative healing.

It was through the internet and a lot of books that I learned about Reiki, Meditation, Positive Thinking and Nutrition and I began healing myself. I was fascinated by everything I learned and felt a sense of knowing that this was real and would work. I focused on laughter and letting the little stuff go. I found a sense of peace in my life that I hadn't realized I'd been lacking.

After 3 months of putting off the surgery, my surgeon became apprehensive and called me personally to say she would no longer  be my doctor. When I questioned why, she said, "I don't want to be responsible if you die, Denise." When I heard those harsh words I felt as though I'd been punched in the stomach. Especially because she used my name. It made it so real for me. I have four beautiful daughters and I hadn't let myself think of what would happen to them if I died. I became fearful and made the appointment to talk to her about removing the mass. Once in the office and after measurements were taken, my surgeon realized that the mass was beginning to shrink.  She then agreed to wait and “watch” it. I’m happy to say that the lump was completely gone after 3 more months.

This experience caused me to take a deeper look at my life purpose. My sincere desire to help others sent me looking for training in Reiki and other Holistic Healing. I trained at the Southwest Institute of Healing Arts, where I became a Reiki Master/Teacher and Holistic Nutrition Specialist, and also learned the arts of Aromatherapy, Hypnotherapy, Meditation, Crystal Healing, Aura Cleansing, Qigong, Chakra Balancing and Intuitive work.

I continue my journey, dedicated to gaining knowledge and bringing an outpouring of love, understanding and healing to those around me.
